The Auschwitz camp was the largest comcentration camp established by the nazi regime. There are Three main camps all which hold prisoners. One of the camps function longer becasue it is held as a killing center.On may 29 1940 a group of prisoners known as an outside squad under the watch of Unterscharfuhrer Beck was sent to Auschwitz from Dachau concentration camp. Auschwitz camp had 20 brick building. On June 14, 1940, the transportation of polish political prisoners 728 men, arrived in Auschwitz from the prison in Tarnow. The prisoners were givin numbers 31-75 all the prisoners were placed in buldings. They buit new bulidings so that all the buildings would hold up to 30,000 prisoners. They also are building a camp for 100,000 prisoners of war near the village Brzezinka. The leaders of Auschwitz was Rudolf Hoss, Josef Karmer, and Erich von dem Bach- Zelewski. In september over 1,000 people died from hunger and diease and result of poor conditons.
